On Wednesday 27th July the BBC visited Stonehaven to film two projects for the TV programme 'Beachgrove Garden The photograph above shows a group of volunteers from the Horizon Project working hard at the start of the task to install decking and seating and planting indigenous plants on the Bay walk hear the Harbour. All volunteers are welcome to assist with planting
The BBC film crew started filming around 11am and will be in Stonehaven covering this project and also the garden in front of the Open Air Pool over the next three days. The programme will be transmitted on Thursday 4th August. Note: John Reith who became the BBC's first ever director-general in 1926 was born in Stonehaven and a plaque can be found on the site of his original home which is now 80 - 84 Evan Street, Stonehaven.. # Art019 |
