Top 5 Beauty Spots in Scotland

Name: Pedro Rivera
Age: 30
Born: Venezuela
Lived in Scotland: almost 2 years
Occupation: Business Planner at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency

I came to Scotland from Venezuela to study for an MBA at the University of Edinburgh Management School almost two years ago.
Now I work in Stirling and live in Edinburgh, so my daily commute takes me through some stunning Scottish countryside. There are so many places of exceptional natural beauty in Scotland. These are my personal top 5.

Dunnottar Castle, near Stonehaven
One of the sites that has amazed me more than anywhere has been Dunnottar Castle and the surrounding coast cliffs. This settlement has 2000 years of history and it is incredible - the location and layout of the castle. The town is cosy and very picturesque. Dunnottar Castle.

Loch Ness and the North West Highlands
Driving from Inverness down to Crianlarich passing by Drumnadrochit and Fort William, you get the most astonishing views of Loch Ness. We added a quick detour to Dornie, which just rounded off the combination between beautiful natural sceneries and the history of Scotland. On a clear day the mountains are reflected in the Loch creating an incredible view. Loch Ness and Inverness.

The views from the William Wallace Monument, Stirling
From the monument you can see Stirling Castle and its surrounding area. You can appreciate the blending between the Stirling Town, the river, and the countryside.

Loch Tay and the Grampian Highlands
I had the opportunity to do a walk on the hills surrounding Loch Tay in February and it was simply great. We had lunch on a small loch that’s located on the top of one of the hills it was almost frozen! Loch Tay

North Berwick and Bass Rock
“It was summer when I visited the local Sea Bird Museum as well as doing the short boat trip around Bass Rock. All the sea birds were in season – tens of thousands of birds around the rock. It was very impressive.
