Dunnottar Castle Wedding
As a country, Scotland has it all: breathtaking scenery, dramatic settings and a distinctive culture. More importantly, it enjoys a world-wide reputation for hospitality and the genuine warmth of its people. So whether you are planning to 'run away' to Gretna for a small intimate wedding or get married in a romantic castle there is endless possibilities to provide you with a wedding you will never forget.
This was the case for Justine Cherne and Cody Moore who travelled from Detroit in America to Stonehaven to get married in Dunnottar Castle in September 2003.
They first saw a photo of the Castle on a wedding website and after researching our Stonehaven website, Justine said The photos and history of the town made the venue all the more desirable.
I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet Justin, Cody and their guests as they celebrated with a few drinks in the Hook and Eye in Stonehaven.
Justine emailed the Stonehaven Guide website with the following comments on returning to America.
'Once we arrived, we found Stonehaven and the people who live there to be warm and friendly! My guests enjoyed Stonehaven also. We enjoyed the harbor, the market square, Dunnottar Woods, the Royal Hotel, and especially the people we met'.
The picture on the left shows Justine being led into the Castle by local piper, John Dickson.
I would like to thank Justine and Cody for permission to use the above photographs.
