Stonehaven Folk Festival Aqua Ceilidh

This event which is unique to Stonehaven Folk Festival, was a resounding succes this year thanks to the excellent summer weather.

Local Band, Galik Bred, provided the music and the Open Air Pool was buzzing with excitement as bathers danced the Splashing White Sergeant Drip The Willow and other ceilidh dances.



The picture on the right shows the crowd still waiting to get in half an hour after the start.

The wait was worthwhile.
Lots of people were having lots of fun including some spectators who were a bit reticent about taking the plunge.

Visitors to the town could not fail to be impressed with the setting and the organisation of the event.




For those that had been attending the late night session on the Saturday night this was a refreshing tonic for a Sunday Morning.
The callers in the Band explained all the dances so there was no excuses for anyone not to get involved
Stonehaven Folk Festival Committee are to be congratulated for using the only Heated Open Air Pool in the country for such an innovative idea.
